Just some pictures and some sound,
to give an impression of that day.

Click here to hear music from
the Amsterdam Klezmer Band
with Bob Fosko and Hartzeer
from their concerts in het Vondelpark.
After that (20 min.) you hear about
60 min. from the poets that performed
on the roof of the 80 questions truck,
with Martin S. Past, Arjan Waalwijk
Sven Ariaans, Barry Fitton, Proost
and the famous Himmelreich.

Early in the morning I left Eindhoven together
with Martin S. Past in his beautiful truck,
Which he will use for his project:

Around the world in 80 Questions.

The plan was to park the truck in the Vondelpark,
but at the last moment the police refused the permission,
so they found a new place for us called Voor-beeld.

This old school is now in use for all kinds of artists
and also used today for the radio broadcasting.
The plan was that the truck will be the stage
for street artists and poets from about 17.00 hrs.
That gave us time to go to the Vondelpark,
to see some performances.

The first band we saw were the famous
Amsterdam Klezmer Band, together
with Bob Fosko.

It was a great concert and all the people enjoyed the gig.
Standing in red velvet is Willem de Ridder,
Dutch best storyteller and multi artist.

The second band I saw was the
Dutch singing band Hartzeer.
Powerful happy music with all kind of influences,
but perfect fitting in the sunny Vondelpark.

And another picture because it is just good.

Sadly we had to leave before the ending of the show,
because we had our own program to do.
7 poets had agreed to show up
and also some street musicians.
It was nearly 17.00 and still nobody
was there but the feeling was all right.

People walked in and out the building.
A TV station did some recording
and Wiekete sold her famous bread.

Free radio has to stay.

On many ways people showed us,
that free radio has to stay.

Around 18.00 hrs we start the program.
Mathias opened the program
and told us about the situation.

Then Martin announced the poets,
who had to climb on the truck.

Sven Ariaans

Proost

Arjan Waalwijk

Not all of them were fit enough to climb on the bus.
But still Barry Fitton spoke some good words.

We ended the program with a didgeredo
player who was also a poet.

After that we ate some nice food in the building.
Prepared by some of the volunteers that made
a day like this successful.

We met also the Canadian radio makers who
wanted to drive with us back to Eindhoven.

And we saw some other friends.

But we had to leave early again,
so we have not seen the rest of the programs,
but I hope that we supported a little bit
free radio in their struggle for justice.

Free radio will go on and on and on.

On the way home we had one special moment,
because the meter hit the magical number....

That's all for now folks
