Holiday July 2003 part 6.

Today it was my time to drive and
that means also that you can't drink.
No problem for me to see my friends
get drunk and have a good time.
First of all I took this picture of
my host early in the afternoon.
He was completely dressed up
to go to the marriage of his best friend.
This is on his terrace at home.
Every day and in the night too,
we enjoy this beautiful view.

I went with my car even more up in
the green hills of Budapest to pick up
my friend Tamás. We would go to
a Spanish concert in a court yard.
First we played a little bit with his
new computer and I even managed
to do an update of my web pages.
I made this picture and we were
wondering who is in the prison now.

After dinner we went to Pest to see the concert.
The weather was perfect and we felt good.
It was a pity that the 2 musicians were playing
real serious stuff over a not all to good sound
system for an audience that was talking too loud.
We could hardly hear what they played and
that was a pity for these former students of
the music academy of The Hague, Netherlands.

After the music we walked a little bit through
|the former Jewish Ghetto. We also went down
the streets to cross to the other side when we
heard the violin playing and a man singing
an old tragic Hungarian song.

We walked along
and we found this court yard
called Szoda and it was a strange place.
Many young people were there and the place
had some weird decoration with Chinese text,
but also with dolphins and other stuff.
A good place to visit also once in day time.

After that we drove back to Buda and
my friend had his last beer in the garden pub.
Then I drove him home and I took my car
to drive back to the apartment.
On Sunday morning I drove to
Petöfi Csarnok to go to the flea market.
As usual it was very busy and you
can buy nearly everything you wish.
From real junk to real treasures.

Outside the market they also sell
little cats and dogs. They all look cute.

I even found a Tonka on the market.
It is the first one I ever saw here and
the price was good enough for me to buy it.

After the market I took a quick look
at a bicycle race down the stairs of
the Gellert Mountain. Hundreds of
youngsters on mountain bikes try
to break their neck to be the quickest.

When I walked up the hill I passed the
famous Gellert bath and I made this picture.

Then I went to Millennáris Park to see
a photo exhibition. All the pictures were
taken in Budapest by young people.

After lunch I drove with my friend Atilla and
his daughter Alice to a little village called Gott.
It is situated at the Danube and there is a nice
beach with a little bar in the river. I was not
very enthusiastic to swim in the Danube,
but Atilla told me that it was pretty clean.
The factories were on holiday but as far
as I know machines never stops. Also the
boats that passed by, could pollute a lot.
I decided to go in anyway and it was
really great. The water was around
26 degrees and very clear.

The kids had pleasure in many ways.
Even this dog did not mind to get buried.

On the road back to Budapest we saw the
balloon from the other side this time.

Early in the evening we went to a concert
from Pannónia Klezmer band,
in the Svent István parkban.
Good music in a good surrounding.

After dinner we ended the evening in Razc-kert,
the garden pub and most members of Atilla's
band joined us and they all got nicely drunk.
I was the only one sober, because I was the driver.
