This is just a personal impression of the recent trip I embarked upon.
I took a lot of pictures with a Ricoh rdc-300 digital camera and you'll find them in this story and in the pages of 2B.
I created these pages with the Arachnophilia html editor, Lviewpro, Ricoh photoshopand a Gif construction set.

Thursday october 9, 1997.
After hanging a poster of "Vorsicht bissiger hund" on the 2B door and truck, Marco, Luke and me (Guus) left Eindhoven around 09.30.
We firstly had to go to Tilburg to pickup the other 4 artists and then we were really on the road.
It was around noon when we passed the Dutch/German border. Some of us were busy with taking pictures, drawings or filming.
Every 100 miles we stopped our, not too fast truck, for food, pissing, pictures and collecting things we can use in Berlin, in our monday evening presentation in Tacheles.
After several stops and a lot of fun we arrived at our destiny for the day.
We passed Venlo, Cologne, Frankfurt, Regensburg, Passau, Linz and we are now somewhere in the neighbourhood of Swerdberg.
It was as we thought 02.00 hours when we sat down at the place where we could sleep.
After unloading some things from the truck we opened a bottle of whiskey and we start talking about this and other projects that we are busy with.
Also I connected all the computers and battery chargers. I started to write what you're reading now and converted the pictures from my digital camera to the computer. The last thing I did tonight was to secect the pictures and resize them and send them to the internet.
It was 06.00 hours when I went to bed
Friday october 10, 1997
This morning started with a small breakfast and after that, everybody was busy with doing all kinds of things, like playing drums in the woods and gathering more materials to use in Berlin. I prepared the material we wanted to send to Eindhoven for use on the internet.
The office of KANAL, the place where we slept, was still closed so at 15.00 hour's we decided to go to Linz, where the headquarters of Temporal Architecture is based. We hoped to use their computer to send our material.
I took over a 150 pictures and some of them are used in the 2B pages, some in my own version of events on the guus pages and the rest I will use at the performance in Berlin.
About 95% of what I wanted to transfer to our server arrived and then the computer at TA crashed.
There's always trouble with these machines and I'm used to it by now.
It's now 17.00 hours and we just left Linz on our way to Tabor. From now on we are by our selves.
Nothing is arranged untill Prague, where we gonna sleep in a youth hostel.
We wanted to do some performances in Prague, in the Roxy, but they had another
programm going on, so we had to find another place to perform. It will be also the same story at Tabur, but we'll see what will happen when we arrive there.
It's just past 20.00 hours and we are just 20 miles away from Tabor and we still having fun.
The weather changed about 4 hours ago from sunny into raining.
We had no trouble at the border. Only the Austrian custom's didn't like to be filmed and the Tjech custom's wanted to see the inside of our trunk, but when we opened it and they saw the rubbish, he just shook his head and we were allowed to drive on.
Ten miles later we had to wait about 30 minutes, because a car drove into a trolley. Frontal. Heavey. I made some pictures, but I think there's not much to see on it. We are no disaster tourists, so our show goes on.
At 21.00 hours we arrived at Tabor, a very nice little city. The first bed & breakfast we tried didn't want us, but about one hour later we found a really nice and cheap place to stay.
Around the corner was a little bar/restaurant where they give us a seperated room. We got beer and food and we filmed, took strange pictures and had fun. At midnight we put all our stuff in the 3 rooms we got and watched some of our recordings, prepared some work for the internet and then Marco, Luk and me went to a disco called the Bunker and it really was one. We had some good drinks and shoot some nice pictures and we went home to sleep at 04.00 hours
Saturday 11 october.
We got up at nine and after a nice shower and a small breakfast we tried to connect to the internet, to mail our latest pictures. I saw a provider in Tabor, but they were not there so we went to Mc Donalds to shoot some more pictures and we did also some extra decoration at the car and then we went on the road to Prague.
There was a roadchange because the e55 was partially closed.
We passed a lot of little villages and stopped for a coffee and another session of collecting usefull things like the sound of barking dogs, strange posters and so on.
Also a jamsession with tape and megaphone got a lot of attention in the village.
At 14.00 hours it was time again to drive further in the direction of Prague.
We arrived at Prague around 15.00 hours and we did a short intermezzo on the market square from Prague.
We found a nice cybercafé to transfer our pictures of today.
Everything went well and the pages Edwin made, look great.
We went first to the youth hostel, but they were full and they said that they hadn't received our fax. We found, after hard looking, a nice bed & breakfast. It was on the eastside of the town. We unloaded most of our stuff and then we went back to the city center to have a meal.
It was already passed 22.00 hours and everybody was hungry and had enough of walking through this beautiful city.
We had a good dinner and we went to a pub to get a little bit drunk. We took some usefull pictures and met some girls.
Two of them showed us a place to buy some more booze and we brought them home at the other end of the town.
There names are Monika and Lucy and they asked us to have some more drinks at their place, but it was about 04.00 hours and we decided to go back to the bed and breakfast.
We talked about the project and we drunk a bottle of whiskeyand at 06.00 hours we went to bed.
Sunday 12-10-1997.
We got up around midday and we going to Dresden now. No breakfast was served in the bed & breakfast, so we just started driving and we stopped in a small village to eat.
The menu was only in Tjech and nobody there talked anything else then that, but it tasted allright.
We had our usual gazstation stops too collect more stuff and also decorate the truck a little bit more.
We made a long stop at Theresia.......to film and make pictures. It was 17.00 hours when we left to go to the Tjech/German border where we arrived one hour later and had again no trouble with crossing.
The last 10 miles was the workin' girl's district and another part of our assignment was to find out the price of a good fuck.
At one point we saw 5 girls standing half naked on the street and we stopped our truck and we asked the question.
Ofcourse we recorded it on tape and video, just untill the pimp showed up and all the girls had to go inside. End of story, but we had our information and we went on.
We drove to Dresden to work on our assignment, taking pictures of the inside of a church. But the church was closed, due to the rebuilding.
Outside on the square we found a lot of the church pieces, behind a fence.
Ofcourse some climbed over and we took our stroboscoop to it and Luk started filming.
When we were finished we had a meal in a non-smoking McDonalds and at ten we took of to Berlin.
Just outside Dresden we saw a fancy fair with a rollercoaster. Everybody, except Bart went in it.
Luk and I took the first ride. Luk used his digital videocamera to record the event and I took every 3 seconds a picture. The result was freakin' allright. So it was a good stop.
At 23.00 hours we were back on the track. The last 150 miles to Berlin was in total darkness.
We tried to take some more crazy photo's at Mc Donalds with Marco in the special children's room, but it was closed at that time and they didn't want to open it.
Somebody did a strikin' performance with the Mask at the gazstation and we got very good pictures and film from that.
It was just after one when we arrived in Berlin. Munne, our Berlin connection was allready in
Tacheles and after a couple of drinks we went up, to the sixth floor where we could sleep.
We had a lot of stuff to carry and after a bottle of whiskey some of us went to bed and other's started
working for the performance in Zapata, the bar from Tacheles.
They even went down to the truck to pickup the videobeamer. I whatched it untill 06.00 hours and fell asleep. Stoned, drunk, satisfied and pretty happy.
Monday 13 october.
After a good night sleep I got up at eleven, looked outside, went downstairs and had a nice breakfast in Zapata. After that, back up again and I worked a while on the computer to select the new pictures to send to the internet.
Others were busy with their stuff for the show.
I even found some time to walk around a little bit before I went to the office for a meeting with the organisation of Tacheles. One of the biggest squatted work and life spaces in Europe.
Around 16.00 hours I transferred the pictures I had taken in the last 2 days and in between I shot new pictures of everybody who was busy with preparing for the evening performance.
Some were busy in a gallery covering a wall with photocopies and then they painted over it.
Others made pictures or films to use in the evening too. They kept me pretty busy and that's ok.
At 17.00 hours we started to unload the truck and prepare the stage. It was pretty busy in the
bar/restaurant, so we were not allowed to do a soundcheck.
I had to find some tv's to use and had a lot of work to connect them to the computer and the
camera. At 20.00 hours I was ready with my stuff and most of the others had done also the most they had set out to do by then.
We had our dinner and it was amazing busy for a monday night. The atmosphere was good and after dinner we had a small soundcheck with often produced terrible noises, but it had to be done, because we planned to use a lot of different instruments and toys.
It was after 22.00 hours when we started the show and I think we created a real nice mixed programm with video, music, performances and most important fun.
After the show we started with playing music and every now and then somebody jammed with the records that Luk and Marco played.
The place kept busy untill the end and after we broke down all our stuff and stashed it in the truck, it was 3 o'clock and we went out for a bite and some more drinking.
After that some went for a walk in the town and one went to bed and I took a nice bath and waited untill they came back to our sleeping place.
We finished the bottle of Bourbon and went to bed, while a slideshow was running on my computer and the cdrom played random tracks from a nice reggae cd, during the rest of the night.
Tuesday october 14.
Stijn and me were the first to get up and went down to Zapata for a breakfast. The cook didn't
show up, so we bought some sandwiches instead in a shop at the other side of the street.
Around noon I went up to the office to transfer the pictures of the show to the internet and after that I started to walk a little bit in the town to take some more pictures.
I also made a print of two pictures and they were not at all bad, but also not yet good.
We visited some places with art and before we walked back to Tacheles we took a nice lunch at a little place along the road.
Around 18.00 hours we were all together at the Zapata bar. The bus was loaded. We had take some nice photograph's in the garden of Tacheles.
The last thing we had to do was to deliver the sealed suitcase to the organisation in Tacheles.
So we all went up to the office and handed the suitcase to Martin. He opened it and a metal piece came out and we got 1000 points for delivering it.
After that we ate an Indian dinner and at 20.30 hours we decided to hit the road and head back home.
Ten minutes later we stopped at one of the largest constructie site's of Berlin to shoot some more pictures and Marco skied down the subway.
It was around 21.00 hours when we finally left Berlin and it was dark again.
We drove and drove and we made a crazy performance stop at a gazstation, just outside Hannover.
We put the drums outside the truck and we had several synthisizers connected to a big bass
speaker. Marco played the drums, Luk used his korg and Koen sung through his sample machine.
The others were filming, taking pictures or used the megaphone to get some more attention.
Some people stopped and watched the performance, but luckely the 150 truckdrivers didn't got out of their trucks, complaining about the noise.
It was allready 03.00 hours and I slept the next 2 hours.
Wednesday 15 october 1997.
In Venlo and Helmond in the Netherlands we did again some performances at gazstations.
People looked strange at our little shows, but nobody made a fuss about our noise.
It was 08.00 hours when we arrived in Eindhoven at 2B. We made some coffee and unloaded the truck.
Around 10.00 hours we dropped Marco of at his house in Eindhoven and then we drove to Tilburg to deliver our four other guests.
After the first two, we drove to the next place, close to the trainstation.
Just before we had to turn left, somebody in front of us made a stupid move and we hit a bicycle rack. It was made of strong iron and skrewed in place into the road.
Our frontwheel was broken and we were unable to move in any direction. On our backdoor we
had painted:
And at the end of it all I've got nothing more to say or add just that it was a successfull trip with good performances and a lot of stuff to work on for the Internet or to use on other ways.
I thank the others of keeping up with me and hope to work with them soon again on similar projects.
