The E55 exhibition in 2B, Eindhoven 1998

The first thing to do is to

to hear the real audio sound to get in the mood for this exhibition.

Okay you hear the sound of cars passing by.
Put  the volume up and scroll through the pictures below.
I'll try to give you some extra information after the pictures.

First we start with the only picture I made of the preparations.
3 artists from Tilburg made it in a couple of nights.

And this is how it turned out.

At the entrance we had a coctail bar
in the back of an old van,
not too big but nice enough
to sit in and have a drink.

After the coctail bar you could walk into
the exhibition in the big hall.
At the entrance you first saw
a tv with this film runnin' on it.

On the other side of it was the cabine of a truck
in which you could sit and with the cludge you could
change the projection of the front window.
With the wheel you could influence the sound
and the pedals controlled some lights, sounds
and ventilator in the inside and outside of the truck.

The truck was standing at the beginning of a timeline
that was made of a long chute with pictures in it.
On the other end was an object of 9 televisions and
on both sides were screens with 8 slideprojections on it.
2 times 3 pictures and special text over it.
All the pictures were made during the
E55 ralley between Vienna and Berlin.

Well above you see the installation with 9 tv's ,
shot with 5 camera's and played
all together with the sound.
Ofcourse there was more, like the
sealed suitcases everybody had to
transport from Berlin to Vienna.
Some really transfered it in something new.

On the wall here you see the
overalls of four people who also
drove the E55 ralley.

A couple of installations we couldn't show
you in this exhibition due to lack of money
or time of the people who were involved.
There was one guy with a
multi media motorbike and
one installation was a giant kubus
with videobeam projections on the
4 walls and on the ceiling.
It was hanging from the roof
and you could stand inside it
and get amased by the beautifull
images you get when you drive
from Berlin to Vienna.

After seeing all the stuff and hearing
the noises there was also
a lot to do in the bar
like, dj's, bands and performances.

The exhibition run for
one week and about 300 visitors
took some time to enjoy it.

Plans for new adventures
are in process and will
be announced when
the time is right.
