Pictures Dynamo open air 1997

We all started from 2B with several vans.
We had a lot of stuff to carry, because
we wanted to have a big presentation.
In no time we built a little tent village and
we started to prepare for the opening of
our 72 hours of cultural presentations.
Munne started his techno party with a lot of
guest DJ's on one side of our little place and
Trash had bands and DJ's on the other side.
In between we had Annie's coffee supply,
the vegetarian restaurant and our info tent
The weather was pleasant so a lot of people
stayed on our little space to rock,
swing, eat, dance, piss or whatever.

At seven I had to start playing the records
for a while, now and then a band played
and every time I could hear the
bass noises of the techno tent
After I played the second song it started
to rain, but we all had fun, so what!
The weather stayed changeable
but the music went on and on and on.
At 10 in the morning Luk took over the DJ
spot to start his local nonsense radio
and I had time to rest for a short time.
Later in the day I visited the skate festival
with thousands of other people
to see some skating and concerts.
I
n the evening I went to the main stage
to see what happened there.
A lot of noise and stage diving and many people.
I was lucky to get a backstage pass,
so I could sneak out and have a
cool beer and food at the backstage.
It was also a mess around there,
like everywhere on the festival from the
traditional rain, that felt down like hell.
When I came back to the 2B village
I discovered that the Dynamo organization
had closed the techno tent, because
they had complains about our noise.
After some talks, Munne closed his ten
t and one hour later the 2B tent and the
info tent started their programs again.
Still, there were a lot of people hanging around
the techno tent waiting for some action,
but they had no luck, just some freaks
around the 2B village started playing techno
on their soundblasters and car radio's

Long after midnight I went back with one
of the 2B bands that just had played.
On Sunday I was back at the festival with
my son around 13.00 hours and found Trash resting
for the first time after 60 hours of being busy.
Our theater group from Leningrad arrived
at 15.00 hours, but they couldn't find
a place to perform, so they just hanged around.
There was still a band playing in the 2B tent
and also the info tent made some nice noises.
I showed my son the festival market, games
and of course we ate a nice pancake at kathy's.
Backstage we saw a maquette of the festival,
a strangely parked car, some violin players on
a bus and we had a lemonade at the volunteers tent.
Slowly it became dark and we walked
back to the 2B place where the party
went on and on and on and on and on and on.
