24th. Kaláka festival, Day 3 Saturday
12-07-2003
I woke up pretty late and hurried to the festival
to see part of the children programs. I arrived just
in time to see all the kids in action. Dancing' in
line on the music that was played by Esztenás,
with some guest musicians.
Everybody had a good time here.
Also the musician enjoyed it very much.
After that it went on with several children on the stage
helping out with making music all together.
Indeed a fine way to wake up and eat some breakfast,
while listening to the music.
Then it was time again for the founders of the festival
to play their fine music and telling their stories.
And of course we do not forget the bass player
In the catering tent preparations go on during lunch.
Another Rumanian band talked to the organization.
Another compliment goes to the catering boss and his
fine staff. For four days they took care for the artists,
organization and the visitors with quality food.
But let's not forget there is a festival going on
Another surprise for me was this group from Serbian
They are called Teofilovici and the 2 brothers
Ratko and the other Radise, sing sometimes like one voice.
It was amazing that with only their voices they already gave
everybody the shivers of enjoyment.
The flutist and other instruments playing man
is called Zorz Grujic and he kept us listening
with all our concentrations.
And we do not forget the great drum playing
of Papa Nick. He added also much to the
great atmosphere of this special concert.
My friend Martin, who speaks some Serbian,
had a little talk with them after the concert.
What about I could not understand, but
sure he thanked them for their great music.
It was time to go for a bite again and there we
met 2 girls who had to play later in the evening.
But first I had to help Troitsa with setting up
their instruments for their performance.
We had to bring everything from the big truck
up to the stage where at that moment was
Egy Kiss Erzi Zene performing .
Another fine voice together with a pretty young
group of musicians.

Quickly I went down to take a look at the
Nikola Parov és a Balkan Syndicate.
And then it was time for Troitsa. A group from Minsk
and already longtime friends of me. Ivans Kirchuk
asked me to video the whole performance and
that's why I stayed on stage and tried to stay
out of side of all the other camera's.
This picture I made at their soundcheck.
And indeed it was a great concert again. From beginning
until the end Ivans and the two Juri's played magical.
After the performances I took another quick look at
the girls we had dinner with. The band was called;
Anselmo and I enjoyed them too.
As we were taking the instruments of stage from Troitsa
the Romanian group was waiting patiently.
They are called Erdõszombattelki Zenekar,
another fine example of traditional folk music.
Then it was time again for Troitsa to play
another concert at the little stage and again
we heard some magical music.
It was far after two
when they finished and after we brought back
their instruments to the truck it was late
again when I walked back to the campingside.
Another fine day had passed.
