Living in Eindhoven

I'm living in Eindhoven since 1973 and luckily
I've not seen the original buildings the project makers
distract and replaced, in the period 1945-1973,
with the crap I see around me now.
Unfortunately I've seen them turn down
some other beautiful places in these years.
Like the Philip Morris factory,
the squatted place the Bunker and others.
Just in the name of modernization and neo(n) realism.
There are many new plans for the city of Eindhoven
to go with the world-known expansion explosion.
The city believes in it, but who the fuck is the city?
Not the people that live on a minimum income or slightly better.
No, we have to accept what the moneymakers
have planned for this city if you like it or not.

But for now I'm living in the south of Eindhoven,
not to far from the woods and with a
minimum on luxury but quiet enough.
I judge a city mostly about their cultural activity's.
There's enough of all popular stuff around,
but just a few are interesting and not to expensive.
Of course you remember 2B and the Effenaar,
earlier mentioned in my pages.
Then we have the City theater house and
The Music center, both are to expensive,
but very sometimes they have some interesting stuff.
Youth center Dynamo was also mentioned before.
The Fabriek and the Apollohuis are two institutions
that concentrate completely on art in all kinds
of constructions with music, film, exhibitions,
performances, theater, animation,etc.

The Plaza Futura is a film and theater house
with the better films and the smaller theater groups.
Theater the Klein is also focussed on the smaller
theater groups and they do exhibitions too.
Grand cafe Berlage tries also to get
a little bit of culture in the house, but
mostly far to popular and to soft for me.

These are only the places I visit now and then,
maybe there are some more interesting places,
but not in the alternative circuit, as far I know.
Soon more.
